Platform Matched & Platform Switched Dental Implants Comparison & Evaluation of Stress Distribution in Bone (Beased on Original Research)

About Book

Under limitation of this researched book it was concluded that in all the three combination of fixed dental prosthesis (FPD), the maximum von miss stress was observed at cortical bone region around the neck of implant abutment junction. At zone 1: it was found that stress on crestal bone level in the platform matching and platform switching implant supported fixed dental prosthesis (FPD), was lesser than platform switching abutment and tooth supported FPD followed by platform matching and tooth supported FPD combinations. At zone 6 the stress on crestal bone level of platform matching and tooth supported FPD was lesser than platform switching and tooth supported FPD followed by platform matching and platform switching implant supported FPD combination. At zone 7the stress on crestal bone level, stress on the platform matching and platform switching FPD was lesser than platform switching and tooth supported FPD followed by platform matching and tooth supported FPD. At zone 12 it was found that stress on crestal bone level was lesser in platform matching and platform switching implant supported FPD, than platform switching and tooth supported FPD, followed by platform matching and tooth supported FPD combinations. Hence, the data obtained from the images suggests that the platform switching and platform switching implant abutments combination in implant supported fixed dental prosthesis generates the least stress on crestal bone.
